More Child Abuse Cover-Ups Found In Anti-Gay Catholic Church
I have something to say to the Catholic Church and anyone who espouses its anti-gay, anti-woman teaching. I want to be very clear about this, so please read carefully
FUCK YOU.
I am so sick of these robed, self-righteous pieces of shit doing everything they can to thwart gay equality and a woman’s right to choose, while they ignore the real moral travesties taking place in their own goddamn Church. A commission report into Dublin’s Catholic Archdiocese has found “no doubt”…let me repeat that…”NO DOUBT“…that the archdiocese and other Church authorities have a long, hideous track record of deliberately covering up the sexual abuse of children by priests between 1975 and 2004.
…the welfare of children, which should have been the first priority, was not even a factor to be considered in the early stages…Instead the focus was on the avoidance of scandal and the preservation of the good name, status and assets of the institution and of what the institution regarded as its most important members – the priests.
And, as we all know, this isn’t some isolated freak case in Dublin. This is a systemic problem within the Catholic Church. Children have been victimized by predators in robes within the Church, their cases covered up, lives ruined – for what? For “the avoidance of scandal.” For “the preservation of the good name, status and assets of the institution.”
In the meantime, these right-wing freaks within the Catholic Church have conducted a never-ending assault on gay equality here in the United States. Just earlier this month, the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington issued an ultimatum; the Church will actually shut down its social services for the poor within the District of Columbia if the city legalizes same-sex marriage. These rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth zealots will actually simultaneously screw every single poor person in D.C. receiving services from the Catholic Church if marriage equality becomes a reality in Washington. These services include services relating to homelessness, health care, and adoption.
And what about the Catholic Church’s war on women? The Church played a key role in adding the draconian, anti-woman Stupak Amendment to the House health care bill, which threatens to effectively ban abortion for low- and middle-income women. If the United States of America returns to the Dark Ages of back-alley abortions, the Catholic Church will be the primary reason.
All of this, while the Catholic Church has a proven record of covering up the sexual abuse of children. All of this, while Church authorities have disregarded the safety of defenseless children in an effort to save the Church’s “good name.”

Yet Another Gay Marriage Ban?
We’re in the middle of a deep recession with no end in sight, rising unemployment, two wars that are bankrupting us and killing our children, and a battle over meaningful health care reform, yet all some Republicans seem to have on their minds is, horror of horrors, gay marriage.
Just a few months after the New Hampshire legislature legalized same-sex marriage and the governor signed the equality bill into law, Rep. John Itse is already sponsoring a constitutional amendment that would only recognize marriage as between a man and a woman. Apparently, Itse thinks the legislature changed its mind since…spring. Either that or he’s just trying to impress the braindead Religious Right morons who think New Hampshire is literally going to open up and drop its population into the bowels of hell after same-sex marriage becomes legal on January 1. If approved by the legislature, the amendment would then have to be voted on by the citizens of New Hampshire – in November 2010, 10 months after same-sex couples are allowed to marry. Yes, the legislature giveth, and the legislature taketh away.
I just can’t believe that I’m in America sometimes. I can’t wrap my head around how it’s permitted by our system that civil rights can be granted and then reversed by the mere ballot. It doesn’t make sense. Gay and lesbian Americans are never safe, and we always have to be on the defense for our rights, because the Religious Right activists are always on the offense. It just never ends. A victory is only momentary, because a year later, that victory can be reversed just because the electorate says so.
I look forward to a day when I’m a full citizen, with all the rights associated with citizenship. But as long as people like John Itse are standing in the way, I don’t know when that day will come.

Freedom of Hatred?
The Religious Right is literally about to implode, scattering ash and charred remnants all over the political landscape as it reacts to the latest thrust of the RADICAL HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA!!! What are the queers up to now? Forcing their HOMOSEXUAL DEVIANCE upon public school curriculums? Committing sodomy in the streets? No, no, it’s worse…much, much worse! They’re demanding…to be a SPECIALLY PRIVILEGED CLASS, protected from the hate crimes inspired by right-wing preachers. That’s right! We’re really in the shitter this time, America, so it’s time to pray, pray, pray for God’s blessing to be bestowed upon us, hallelujah, in Jesus’ name we pray!
Such are the cries of the Christian community. But hey…God hates fags, right? Right. Jesus hates queers. Even though Jesus never said a goddamned word about homosexuality, it has become the staple of the Religious Right, the issue (aside from abortion) around which all the freaks and the lunatics and the Sky Spook worshipers and Sun God admirers can congregate in agreement. Oh, sure, the wealthy elite has stripped this country of its dignity, fucked the economy, and systematically enslaved the vast majority of the American people. But the FAGS are doing it in the BUTT! Look at them! We can’t stand for this! They’re gonna ruin the country! And so we have the Religious Right leaders coming out (so to speak), one by one, against even the most secular civil rights, most notably hate crimes protection.
What are they afraid of? The main argument, based upon the putrid projectile vomit that is right-wing Christian preaching, is that the hate crimes protection that most (sane) people want to afford to gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered individuals is a potential muzzle on freedom of speech. In other words, the crazed fire-and-brimstone preachers want to have full protection under the law to stand behind the pulpit, spit upon the true teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, and spew hatred toward the LGBT community. They want to be able to directly or indirectly incite violence against the queers, because that’s what GOD says is the right thing to do. And, let’s face it – if the LGBT community receives hate crimes protection, it might lose its social stigma, and then how would right-wing Christians have their fun? By preaching the Gospel? HA! HAHAHAHA!
As we move closer to passing hate crimes legislation (which is going to be attached to another bill rather than be presented as a stand-alone bill) in the Senate, the Religious Right is getting more and more desperate for attention and sympathy and victim status, because they realize how utterly irrelevant they’ve become as a political force. The attacks, promulgated by the American Family Association (AFA), Focus on the Family, Fox News, and any other bullshit social conservative organization you can think of, are in full force. Hate crimes legislation will protect pedophiles and those who indulge in bestiality and corpse lovers and any other freak the mind can conjure up, according to the Christians. This is just an attempt (based upon the Matthew Shepard “hoax”…right, Virginia Foxx?) to shut the Christians up, promote sin, and protect child molesters and other sex offenders. That’s right, goddamnit! In the words of Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX): “If a mother hears that their child has been raped, and she slaps the assailant with her purse, she is now gone after as a hate criminal because this is a protected class.” Well…with logic like that, who can argue?
Jesus Christ. I’m so sick of these people. I really am. No, you imbeciles…you dumbasses. Hate crimes legislation will not protect pedophiles or any other sex offenders, because those actions are already against the law. No, you demonic sons of bitches, hate crimes legislation will not strip your goddamned pastors of their right to spew idiocy about the LGBT community and the sinners and the sodomites and whoever else they want to degrade, because they’re already protected by the First Amendment. But you know what? I think it should – I think that every pastor who preaches something that could incite violence against gays or any other minority should be placed under investigation and, if necessary, jailed. What do you think of that, you stinking pieces of human waste?
Do I seem pissed off? It’s because I am. Religion is poison, and I’m sick of it polluting society with its toxic fumes. What in the hell is wrong with these people?
More Religious Lunacy
This week, the LGBT rights movement had a victory in marriage equality in New Hampshire, the state legislature having finally reached a compromise on the legislation. Why was a compromise needed? Because of religion. But that’s not the subject of this blog entry. Around the same time, in Nebraska, the pro-choice movement suffered a rather revolting loss in the form of the “Mothers’ Right to See Her Unborn Child Ultrasound” bill, or LB 675. That’s right…a woman has had a right to privacy since Roe v. Wade, and the “pro-life” goons decided that they’d better establish a female right, too – a right to see one’s unborn child!
Now, you know as well as I do that the anti-choice lobby doesn’t give a rat’s ass about women’s rights, and certainly not about a mother’s “right to see her unborn child.” The simple idea is laughable. This bill is not about giving the mother her God-given rights; it is about making it more difficult for her to exercise her ACTUAL rights. The new law requires the ultrasound screen image to be turned toward the mother before an abortion. No, I’m not making this up. The doctor or nurse or whoever will literally be forced under law to turn the ultrasound screen image toward the mother for her to view it and hopefully change her mind about this MURDER that she’s about to commit. But the mother is not required under law to actually view the image…so she can…shield her eyes? look away?
Is this not the most asinine thing that a state legislature has passed in modern history? How many fetuses will this save? What idiocy. Brought to you by the Religious Right.
The AFA and “LGBT Pride Month”
With the news that President Obama – undoubtedly facing heat (and rightfully so) from gay activists – has declared June to be “LGBT Pride Month,” the American Family Association (AFA) immediately went into proverbial convulsions, coming close to biting its tongue off in the process. “YOU’RE CELEBRATING SIN!” the freaks and goons screeched. “WHAT ABOUT THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER!? THE GODLESS WHITE HOUSE DIDN’T PRAY! GRAAAGH!!! MUSLIM, HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA, CHRISTIAN NATION, JUDEO-CHRISTIAN VALUES! GRAAAAAGH!!!” A petty, obviously self-serving poll appeared on OneNewsNow.com asking its Christian readers what they thought of President Obama’s proclamation (as if they didn’t already know…and, turns out, they didn’t). This is typical of the AFA; they ask these silly poll questions, which result in 80% to 90% in favor of their social conservative views, and then they publish it as if it’s proof of…of…of something, I guess. Well, it didn’t work this time.
In the end, 64.93% responded that LGBT Pride Month “is a well-deserved celebration.” Well…with an asterisk. Below the poll results, the AFA makes clear that the poll question was targeted by a “godless liberal” blogger to skew the poll results. They do not believe that the results, which came out in favor of the sinful sodomites, “reflect the opinion of our typical poll participants.” “Typical poll participants” meaning socially conservative, right-wing, Christofascist freaks from hell.

This Generation’s Bull Connor
I wonder how the people in Alabama can sleep peacefully at night, knowing that vermin like Roy Moore are at large in their state. Who’s Roy Moore? I asked the same question. Then it all came back to me, like one of those memories you try to suppress but end up having nightmares and daytime flashbacks about. Remember the Ten Commandments escapade in the Alabama Supreme Court, when the fundamentalist wingnut, the theocratic Chief Justice, refused to remove a granite monument of the Ten Commandments from the building? Huh? Remember the enormous public debate that ensued, and the miniature Ten Commandments signs that popped up in lawns across the country? That was Roy Moore.
RoyMoore, who was removed from his position because of his defiance in the Ten Commandments Case, is running for Governor of Alabama. Does this surprise you? Yes, in this time of deep sin, when we have a black socialist running the country and queers running rampant – and women killing their babies to boot – WE NEED A GODLY MAN IN A HIGH OFFICE! We need a man of principle, someone not afraid to stand his ground on the moral issues facing the great state of Alabama! I know! How about Roy Moore? In his recent announcement, Moore had the following to say: “Out of Washington comes a dangerous new message that we are not a Christian nation. Indeed, I refute that.” YEAH! YOU TELL IT LIKE IT GODDAMNED IS, ROY! All these Muslims running around, some in the Oval Office, trying to turn us into atheists (what? nevermind, you get the point, goddamnit), spreading the wealth around, trying to convince us that these great United States of America weren’t founded on JUDEO-CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES! GRAAAAAH!!! You go, Roy! I’ll be praying for you!
Jesus Christ…what a loon this guy is. The experts are saying that he doesn’t stand much of a chance, but I don’t know…this IS Alabama. Moore also made the following comments about marriage equality for gays and lesbians: “We cannot and will not allow activist judges from California and Massachusetts to push their own immoral opinions on the people of this state.” Remind you of another guy from Alabama? Maybe the police in Alabama should get the fire hoses ready.

Right-Wing Terrorism, the Republican Party, the Religious Right, and Dr. Tiller
Remember when the Department of Homeland Security issued a report – a report that was started under the Bush Administration and only finished and released under the leadership of Janet Napolitano – detailing the threat of right-wing terrorism? I can still hear the screams and cries of the Right, because they’re still echoing in the vacuum of idiocy that they’ve created within their party. Listen closely, and, by God, you can still hear them. “FREEDOM OF SPEECH! FASCISM! ORWELL! THOUGHT CRIMES!”
Right-wing talk radio created a scenario in which conservatives would be sitting down at the dinner table, at which point armed soldiers from the Obama Red Army would storm in, throw hoods over their heads, and take them to a reeducation camp to be trained as Muslim atheists. “Right-wing terrorism?” the conservatives scoffed. “What about LEFT-WING terrorism?” Because tree-huggers and animal lovers, you know, pose the real threat to society in the mind of the right-winger. For the rest of us, the brutal slaying of Dr. George Tiller is proof positive that the reactionary right wing will stop at nothing – not even domestic terrorism and homicide – to achieve their political goals, which revolve around banning queers and abortion.
We know the suspect’s motive. It’s the same motive that terrorists have had for killing other abortion-providing doctors and bombing abortion clinics. The motive is “pro-life,” right? “Murders” were being committed by the evil, satanic, fire-breathing baby killer, Dr. George Tiller, and one pro-lifer decided to take the matter into his own hands, destroying life to save life. See, but it makes perfect sense. These pro-lifers are antithetical to life. They hate women, they hate children, they hate welfare, they hate America. They embrace the death penalty and war and torture. Their sole purpose in life, the drive behind their pro-life cause, is the fetus. Life begins at conception and ends at birth. This is how the pro-lifers think. And some of them feel that it is their mission to kill others who kill, much like some Christians of the same mindset feel that it is their mission to carry out the Biblical command to kill homosexuals. These crazed lunatics are all cut from the same cloth, and they all worship the same vengeful God who loves to soak His enemies in blood. This is radical Christianity. This is right-wing terrorism. These are Republicans.
*GASP* “Are you accusing an entire party and an entire religion of murder, Mr. Blogger?” Yes, I am. No, they’re not all in on Dr. Tiller’s death, but they’ve fueled the kind of inner fire and insanity that would cause a man to drive over two hundred miles to murder an abortion provider.
Republicans and right-wing Christians breed hatred and violence and death. That’s what defines the Republican Party. That’s what defines the Religious Right.
Memo to The Donald…
…Screw you.
Yes, after much thought and consideration, and after much review of the semi-nude photographs in question, Donald Trump – whose massive accumulation of cash is only surpassed by how big an asshole he proves himself to be, day in and day out, every day of his existence – has declared that Miss California, Carrie Prejean, will remain Miss California. And the paparazzi applauded, The Donald smiled, and Miss Prejean’s fake breast popped out (just kidding about that part…but it could, since she apparently has more job security than a tenured professor). The battles are over, and Miss Prejean has won the war, affirming that homophobia is okay as long as you have a cute smile and a persecution complex.
There are a few problems with this scenario, the first and most prominent of which is that Miss Prejean genuinely deserves to be fired. This is not just the passionate opinion of a gay blogger – this is fact, this is reality. As Keith Olbermann pointed out last night in his new “WTF” segment, freedom of speech is not the issue here; for the record, I believe that a person is entitled to whatever half-assed, hateful, bullshit view that he or she wants to take. This is America. Unfortunately for Miss Prejean (or…not so much, thanks to the warmth of The Donald’s heart), she was really nothing more than a corporate employee. By allowing Carrie Prejean to keep her crown, Miss USA Inc. (and Donald Trump himself) has essentially patted this homophobe on the back and confirmed her hateful views. Then, of course, there’s the issue of Miss Prejean joining the efforts of a political action committee – the National Organization for Marriage – and using her platform as Miss California (as well as her failure at attaining the Miss USA crown) to further the anti-gay agenda of right-wing Christian fanatics. And have I mentioned the semi-nude photos yet, which are in clear violation of Prejean’s contract (windy day or not)?
Does any of this matter? Of course not. Not in Donald Trump’s eyes, not in Miss USA Inc.’s eyes, and certainly not in Miss Prejean’s eyes. Because this is not about the thousands of gay Americans who were hurt by Carrie Prejean’s hateful statement – a statement allegedly inspired and espoused by a homophobic God – nor is it about contractual obligations to a supposedly legitimate company run by the great Donald Trump. This is about a poor Christian girl from Southern California – the granddaughter of a man who fought in the Battle of the Bulge to secure her right to spew hate at the LGBT community – who has been persecuted by gay bloggers, the liberal media, and, indeed, Satan himself. This is about nothing more than a constitutional right to hate gays and an ongoing battle between God and Satan for the mind of Carrie Prejean.
So, in honor of my free speech rights, I want to make this perfectly clear. Screw you, Donald Trump, and screw your irrelevant beauty pageant full of half-witted, wannabe porn stars. And keep Carrie Prejean, because the society outside of your stupid Miss USA Inc. doesn’t want her.
